I’ve been spending a lot of time playing the various Forza games with some FIFA and Halo and such thrown in. But I the whole shift to focusing on the online-multiplayer side of games is starting to get annoying. I want to find some games that focus on the single-player story. Something well written with good cinematics. I’m not too familiar with what games are out there currently, so Oppo, what would you recommend?

The single player in titanfall 2 is brilliant and engaging. I’d highly recommend that. Plus the the multi-player is super fun

Battlefield Hardline wasn’t bad. Halo 5 Guardians was pretty decent. Farcry 4 was pretty good, if repetitive. Metal Gear V the phantom pain was excellent, Sunset overdrive was pretty fun, but Madden 17 is consuming my life right now.

Liked Farcry 4 and GTA 5. Fallout was pretty fun too

If you’re open to stuff that isn’t a shooter/racing game: Witcher 3 + DLC should keep you busy for at least 100 hours.

Now that it’s fully backward compatible I’d suggest the Mass Effect trilogy. I know lots of people complain about “holes” (most of which are filled if you pay attention or can connect events), but I never found myself unsure of how something happened. Big thing is it has some of the best character development of any game I’ve played.
Bigger scale I’ve heard great things about Witcher 3. I’m yet to play it myself though.
Basically if you want single player story, I’d suggest going to the genre that was built on that: RPGs.

Have you played the new Tomb Raider games? The first one was a fun, cinematic, single-player adventure game. Haven’t played Rider of the Tomb Raider, but I hear it improved on the first, so I assume it’s also good.

After the multi-player only TF1, this is exciting. I might have to pick that up.

If you want a shooter / multiplayer that has some story, but is basically just a really fun shooter with some story, look at Destiny. You can pick it up now with all the expansions, so there’s no shortage of stuff to do for a newbie. It’s kept me busy for about a year.

I’ve been recently enjoying mafia 3, killer soundtrack, though of you not a fan of excessive foul language and occasional nudity in a video game then it might not be a good choice, but the story is so far really good.

I’d recommend the Director’s Cut of Deus Ex: Human Revolution and its sequel Mankind Divided.
